Event description

Presented by VCA Theatre, VCA Design and Production & Melbourne Conservatorium Interactive Composition

These emerging artists present a never been heard (or seen) before sonata. Composed of three original 30-minute contemporary performance works to the tune of exposition, development, and recapitulation.

face down on the floor
Two young lovers meet under starlight. Eve is carved from Adam’s ribcage. A scientist investigates how much potassium is in the universe. Apollo and Hyacinthus throw a frisbee. The sky rains champagne corks. A girl is waiting for a sign. What happened before that? What happened before that? What happened before that?

Help Mummy Falcon!
How deep is the water? How much can you see? How far can you go? How long is that piece of string? How close can we get? How far should you go? How human are you? How far is too far? How far will you go for (insert emotionally charging prompt here)? How far will they make you go? How deep is the water? Are you real?

What goes up…
El fin. To cease. To finish. To expire. Das ende. To draw to a close. To stop. La fine. To leave. To terminate. To conclude. Exitus… The end.

PARKING

The City of Melbourne has changed the parking restrictions around the Southbank Campus. Parking control hours are now expanded to 7am–10pm, seven days per week, and are capped at three hours. A $2-per-hour fee after 7pm is also now in place. There is no change to the $4-per-hour peak rate between 7am–7pm. Parking inspectors are regularly in the area fining drivers who overstay their meter, so we encourage everyone to be aware and avoid an expensive fine.
