The Evan Trio Presents: The Bud Powell Centennial featuring Graeme Norris

On the 27th of September 1924, the famed virtuoso of jazz piano 'Bud Powell' was born. Bud was one of the pioneers of modern music alongside Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gilespie and friends Thelonious Monk and Elmo Hope.100 years and 2 days Later on the 29th of September 2024, a group of Brisbane musicians will pay homage to his legacy, playing his greatest compositions.
The band taking on the challenge is esteemed saxophonist Graeme Norris, who spent many years in New York attaining his Masters at the Manhattan School of Music. Joining him is a set of JMI Students and Alumni, Jordan Stitt (Piano), Alex Askew (Upright Bass) and Evan J. Evans (Drumset).
