Identifying Rainforest Plants of the Blackall Range: the family Sapindaceae

    This event has passed Register

    Event description

Maples, lychees, and rambutans are in the family Sapindaceae, but did you know we have many local rainforest trees and shrubs in the so-called “soapberry” family?

Join Hilary Pearl and Cam Burton at the Barung Nursery for a two-hour workshop learning the common features of the rainforest plants in this family. You will use these features to key out ten of our local species using “Rainforest Trees and Shrubs”.  Magnifying lenses, keys, and a worksheet of the ten key species will be supplied, and the morning will end with a Sapindaceae hunt in the Seed Forest!

Participation is limited to 15 places so please book in to attend!

      Date: Saturday 15th June, 2024

      Time: 10am start to 12pm

Location: Barung Landcare Native Plant Nursery, Parkland Drive, Maleny 4552
