The FAT ride. Nowa Nowa to Orbost

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

This is a rail trail ride with a difference – with Food, Art + Tunes! Starting in Nowa Nowa, a posse of riders will cruise the East Gippsland Rail Trail and aim to be in Orbost with plenty of time to get ready to see C.W. Stoneking & His Primitive Horn Orchestra perform at Deep in the Weeds at Sailors Grave Brewing (tickets to Deep in the Weeds need to be purchased separately, but hurry – they’re almost sold out!).

It’s a gentle 40.5km (approx) ride along the rail trail suited to just about any bike, with refreshments and tunes at the start, half way & the finish. Stuart from The Local Metung will be there with his wood-fired pizza truck and will be setup at Nowa Nowa from 11:30am for riders to fuel up before they roll out, along with our friends from Moto Bella bringing the tunes with their 1968 Vespa complete with custom DJ Booth Sidecar!

Slow-pokes can mosey off from 12:00 noon, whilst speed demons can wait a bit so we all get to Orbost at 3pm-ish. There will be refreshments at Partelli’s Crossing (approximately half way) and then at Forest Park in Orbost at the finish line, all prepared by The Local Metung.

Expect some Wild Art along the way.

Snowy River Cycling can drop you & your bike back in Nowa Nowa on Sunday 11th June (additional costs apply).

$35 for ride & food, or $55 including bus transfer back to Nowa Nowa on Sun 11 June.
