The Fiddler and the Bard - DARLINGTON with international cellist Carina Drury
Description
Join us at Darlington Hall for an evening of music and storytelling with international guest cellist Carina Drury.
The Fiddler and the Bard is a celebration of Irish and Italian music in 18th-century Dublin. When the Italian virtuoso Francesco Geminiani met Turlough O'Carolan, Ireland's great bard, he challenged him to compose in the Italian style. The result was Carolan's Concerto, and a meeting of two great traditions. Hear their story on violin and two cellos: heartfelt Irish airs, laments and dances alongside elegant Italian sonatas.
Carina Drury, international guest cellist · Helen Kruger, violin · Josie Fontain, cello
