FAQs
- Which pace do I choose?
Choosing your pace is key to your experience of RUNRISE!
ALL PACES WILL BE A VIBE! It's up to you how you want to live it!
The ticket you purchase is named, colour coded and will be the wave and pace you run/walk on the morning.
Please see more pace details below:Run Wave is a 5:00min/km pace (approx. a 23min run)
For the intermediate+ runners. Whether you're a pro or just a regular joe... have you ever RUNRISE'D tho?Power Jog Wave is a 6:00min/km pace (approx. a 27min jog)
For the casual runners out there who want to raise the heart rate and break a sweat!Steady Jog Wave is a 7:00min/km pace (approx. a 31min jog)
For the beginner runners out there or those who want more of a focus on the dance side of things!Disco Walk Wave is a 11:00min/km pace (approx. a 47min walk)
For those who want to walk n boogie, the hot girl (or boy) walkers or families with little ones... This pace isn't a leisurely walk... it's a disco paced sped up walk! - I'm not a runner... but I want to come! What pace do I choose?
Great question!
RUNRISE is a running event and it involves a level of fitness (even the disco walk will be high energy). If you're not a runner but want to come, we recommend the Disco Walk, however we encourage you to get out there and test your paces! We recommend trialing a 4km run or walk at one of the above paces to allow test it out!
- Can I change my pace before the event or on the morning? What if I can't keep up with the pace?
Short answer... no!
The wave/pace of your purchased ticket is the wave you have to stick to on the morning. We ask that you make a well considered decision when choosing the wave/pace of your ticket!
We offer 80% refunds up till 5 days before the event if circumstances change, however we cannot issue tickets if they sell out.If you find you can't keep up with your current pace or are injured, we ask you immediately take yourself off the road to the left and wait for the following wave to come by. ONLY ONCE it has passed can you join in at the back of the pack. This detail is very important! If you have an injury, please signal to a run marshal or medic, who you will find at the rear of the wave, and medical staff will be alerted immediately.
- What do I wear? What do I bring?
Because RUNRISE is a short 4km fun run with relative closeness to parking (dependant on your time of arrival) we don't recommend you bring a lot to this event! Similar to a DAWNBREAK, just the bare minimum!
Appropriate clothing and shoes for a 4km run/walk dependant on the weather conditions
Minimal valuables (there will not be lockers available on site)
A phone if you are comfortable running/walking with it
🚰 Free water stations will be available throughout the village with paper cups, as well as purchasable bottled water.
We only recommend bringing a water bottle if you are happy leaving it behind or carrying it on the run/walk🚾 Ample unisex and all gendered toilets will be available throughout the site and en route
- Where do we go in the morning? Where do we meet to begin the run?
We ask that all attendees arrive at the start village for 3:15am sharp and gates will close at 3:40am!
This allows ample time for ticket scanning, headset collection, toilet stops, finding friends and getting to your wave meeting location. An event village map will be emailed out to you upon ticket purchase and again 24 hours before the event.
Please read it closely and once you have your headset, make your way slowly to your wave location.Your wave start area will be on Seaworld Drive (North of the car park roundabout) and be illuminated by coloured lights. All attendees are to meet behind their Roaming DJ.
Run Wave is purple (at the start arch)
Power Jog Wave is Orange (middle area)
Light Jog Wave is Blue (middle area)
Disco Walk Wave is pink (last wave) - What happens if i'm late? Can I still come for the after-run dance party?
Entry gates close at 3:40am sharp!
Please make an effort to arrive by 3:15am taking into consideration parking time and walking to the event!
We have strict timing schedules to ensure the safety of everyone involved and we cannot have attendees running late and catching up to their waves. Can I still come for the after-run dance party?
RUNRISE operates differently to DAWNBREAK as the fun run component is the main event! You don't want to miss it!
If you are late and miss your wave, you are welcome to head to the post-run village. - What happens if I injure myself before the race?
We offer 80% refunds up until 5 days before the event. You can do this yourself by heading to your ticket confirmation email and clicking the "manage order" button!
- What do I do if I injure myself during the race?
If you injure yourself during the run/walk, please remain calm and if possible, safety remove yourself to the left side of the road. A RUNRISE marshal or medic will come to your aid immediately.
Each wave has 2x run marshals and 1x trained medic to ensure the safety of our runners/walkers!
- Help I can't find my ticket confirmation email!
The two most likely scenarios here is:
- You've paid for your ticket with apple/google pay and the email has gone to the email you have associated with that account.- The email has gone to your spam/junk
If you still can't find your tickets please email us at hello@dawnbreak.au and we will get back to you asap!
- How do I get back to my car?
We suggest walking off your RunRise experience using the footpath alongside the 4km course :)
Alternatively, shuttle buses will be running from Doug Jennings Park back to the main Sea World car park from 5:15am.
- Will there be water, toilets or the opportunity to stop along the course?
There will not be water stations throughout the course, unless for medical reasons
If you are in the RUN WAVE, POWER JOG or STEADY JOG WAVES: It is not permitted to stop unless for emergencies. This is due to safety reasons for all attendees.
If you are in the DISCO WALK WAVE, there will be limited opportunities to stop, unless for emergencies.Being only a 4km length, we ask that you are capable of making the entire length of the course in one go!
Please use the event village toilets appropriately before your wave sets! - What do I do for free Yoga In The Park?
Great question! Recovery is just an important as the vibe!
Yoga In The Park will kick off at 5:45am and be facilitated by Yoga legend jordan.doropoulos!
Hang on to your headset, switch it to the GREEN channel for when it starts and enjoy a complimentary yoga session to unwind and down regulate post run!
Please note: mats and towels are not needed for the post-run yoga. - Is this event all ages?
Yes! All ages can enjoy the RunRise experience. Please note u18 legends will need their own ticket and must be accompanied by a legal guardian at all times! 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏼♂️
- Is this event wheelchair friendly?
Yes! Please contact us if you are planning to come down and we'll make sure you can experience the event in full - hello@dawnbreak.au
- Do you accepted companion cards?
Yes! Please e-mail us your ticket along with a copy of your companion card and we will issue a companion ticket - hello@dawnbreak.au
- Are dogs allowed?
Unfortunately Not. For the safety of all attendees, dogs are not permitted at RunRise events. With thousands of people running, walking and moving through the course together, having dogs within the event area could create a safety risk for both participants and animals.
