The Fundamentals of Arts Fundraising | KalgoorlieThe Fundamentals of Arts Fundraising workshop is ideal for arts organisations and artists looking for the know-how, confidence and inspiration to kickstart or grow income from philanthropy, donors, and business partners. With Creative Partnerships Australia learn how to attract and maintain support from donors and business, diversifying your sources of revenue. WA State Manager James Boyd will offer a full one-day course, The Fundamentals of Arts Fundraising. The course will explore how regionally situated arts companies, community arts groups and artists can develop support for their activities through engagement with the private sector. The Fundamentals of Arts Fundraising The workshop provides a complete overview of private sector revenue opportunities appropriate for regional organisations and artists. Join colleagues in your cultural sector gaining insights into national trends; reviewing essential fundraising principals including the differences between sponsorship and philanthropy; how to be fundraising ready; and strategic insights into crowdfunding, donor circles and trusts & foundations. The course will also explain how to find, retain and build relationships creating long term support using best practice stewardship. The course will cover the opportunities and resources provided by the Australian Cultural Fund as well as outline matched funding programs provided by Creative Partnerships Australia. Creative Partnerships State Manager for WA, James Boyd, will provide local perspective, case studies and insights and expert guidance on how to implement the learnings from the workshop. The cost for attending is $65.00 +GST, including lunch, tea and coffee and snacks. About the presenter: James Boyd, WA Manager, Creative Partnerships Australia Creative Partnerships Australia is a commonwealth government arts agency helping to build industry sustainability through private sector engagement. James Boyd has consulted for over 250 arts companies in collaboration, sponsorship and fundraising. Prior to this he was the Executive Manager, Development for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra where he raised $15 million. He is a graduate of the Executive Program for Non-profit Leaders in the Arts, Stanford University and holds a Graduate Certificate of Social Impact from UWA. He is also the National Convener of Impact100 and Collective Giving Australia. He has published a number of articles on fundraising in the arts and collaborative philanthropy.
