Get ready to get down at The Funk Club on 20 July at Coorabell Hall, where Wax Addicts and their guests will be bringing the funk to the dancefloor to get an extra dip in the hip, and glide in the stride of all the funky groovers across the region.
Expect an evening of funkdafied tunes, from some of the shires best wax slingers playing funk, soul, disco, boogie and tropical sounds all on vinyl.
The line up includes;
Ashton - A northerner with a love for the groove , Ashton runs Flo Records in Bangalow which is filled with some of the funkiest tunes in the region. He is also known to fill a dancefloor with the type of funk that gets any party started on the Balearic Islands.
Iain Yes - Music lover, producer and DJ, Iain heard the call dig deep into his box of rare groove 7s to bring the get down to town, with the fresh funky sound that will remove every frown.
Nat White - A premium collector and selector, with the mixing skills to match, this Welsh wizard effortlessly weaves magical grooves together like the finest tapestries.
Sunny Side Up - One of the shires best dust shaking dancefloor filling DJs, Sunny Side Up brightens every dancefloor he graces bringing the flava to your ear, that you didn't know you had to hear.
The Vinyl Junkie - With the deepest crates in the shire, The Vinyl Junkie dedication to the groove is second to none. Whether running his annual record fairs , or stepping behind the wheels of steel The Vinyl Junkie brings the funky feel good wherever he goes.
Wax Addicts - Your hosts, at the forefront of the vinyl revival in the shire, Wax Addicts play music beyond boundaries and pigeon holes, and for this evening will be bringing the type of old school underground jams that have been rocking block parties since the early 70s.
To bring a bit of extra funkiness to the evening, there will be prizes for the funkiest thread, as well as an old school soul train to raise the FUN-K factor and bring the funky feel good connection to the danceflloor.
So come and board the mothership for the funkiest night the shire has seen since the last time the mothership landed, to take punters on a funkdafied journey deep into the heart of the groove.
