The Funkies aka the Funky Butt Club is the new band by Trevor Hart. Known mostly for his work with his freeform jazz quartet , Trevor now explores this own musical origins - the traditions of early jazz, rags, spirituals and blues.

The early jazz tradition has a freedom, an energy and a beauty and enduring music culture.

The Funkies dive into this tradition with abandon with the big sound of brass touching on the music of Ellington, Armstrong and Bierderbecke plus reinvent some modern classics.

The wonderful players in the Funkies are:
