The Perth Writers' Festival was last programmed in 2024. Since then, we have seen many exciting new grassroots writing festivals emerging across Western Australia. 

Does Perth need a major writing festival? What are the challenges facing the writing sector now and in the future? How can we better support Western Australian writers, readers and stories? 

Writing WA is inviting representatives from writing festivals and writers' centres and individuals from the wider sector to a day of discussion at the State Library of WA.
