THE GALA 2024 - PRISMATIC | LUMINANCE IN VOGUE

    _______________________________________________

This year we are shining a light on you, with a celebration of diverse and fashionable luminosity.

Our guests are invited to embody the theme through a formal dress code that encourages a spectrum of interpretations. From light-reflecting fabrics, pastel hues, and all-white ensembles to bold metallic tones, glitter, interesting shapes and accessories. The goal is to create a dazzling and sophisticated look inspired by the prismatic play of light. (We encourage a light/white/pastel color palette. Whether opting for soft pastels, all-white elegance, or metallic marvels, guests are encouraged to showcase their creativity and individual style).

THE GALA 2024 - IN SUPPORT OF I AM HOPE & GUMBOOT FRIDAY

You will have seen the relentless efforts of Mike King and his team lately in the press and on social media. All monies raised will be equally split between I Am Hope’s in-school and community mental health program, and Gumboot Friday - which provides free counselling to Aotearoa’s youth.

    TICKETS
    - Your ticket includes a five-hour beverage service (wines, beer, 0% alcohol options, non alcoholic soft drinks and juice).
    - All night champagne bar, decadent food and all entertainment.

Please note, this is a cocktail-style party, so no sit-down meal is provided. There will be plenty of food served throughout the entire evening.

    AUCTIONS
There will be silent auctions running throughout the night, and a live auction. Eftpos facilities will be available.

    R18 EVENT
This event is strictly R18 and no underaged people or heavily intoxicated will be allowed entry under any circumstances. You will need your ticket to be checked in, and must show it should you need to leave and re-enter. Security will be on the door.

    BACKGROUND

We want to show support for those in the community living with mental disorders, or supporting their own children, families, and friends, and to encourage everyone not to be afraid to talk about it. Between July 2020 – June 2021, 607 people died by suicide, and 685 the year prior. Mental Health effects everyone, especially our youth. New Zealand has some of the highest suicide rates in the world, including one of the highest youth suicide rates in the OECD. The Key to Life Charitable Trust came about when Mike King visited Taipa Area School in the Far North where 5 kids had taken their lives within five months. Since 2015 they’ve spoken to over 300,000 kids from Bluff to Kaitaia. I Am Hope is The Key To Life Charitable Trust's, in-school, community, and workplace mental health program. Their aim is to forever change the way the people of Aotearoa think, act, and feel about mental illness and mental well-being. Gumboot Friday is their free kids counselling program. Gumboot Friday pays for our kids aged 5 - 25 to see a mental health professional of their choosing.

“It is time to stop throwing negatives at the problem of suicide and to start throwing positives at the solution”.
    Mike King
