About the Director - Darren K. Hawkins

Hawkin is an Australian filmmaker whose versatile career spans acting, writing, directing, and producing. A Northmead Performing Arts High School graduate, he began in music and theatre before transitioning to film in the early 2000s. Under his production banner Lonely Hill Films, Hawkins recently helmed The Girl in the Shadows, an indie regional mystery, and is now developing Kennedy, a historical drama reimagining the Ned Kelly saga from the perspective of Michael and Bridget Kennedy.

About the DOP - Casimir Dickson ACS

Dickson is an award‑winning Australian Director of Photography whose rich visual storytelling elevates indie features, shorts, dramas, and documentaries. He's a distinguished cinematographer known for his artistry and technical precision. He combines technical mastery, emotive cinematography, and fluency with premium camera systems. His work on The Girl in the Shadows showcases how he draws out atmosphere and character through the len, making him an invaluable partner for directors seeking striking, story-driven imagery.

About the Gaffer - Mark Naidoo

As gaffer, Naidoo served as the head of the electrical department, closely collaborating with cinematographer Casimir Dickson to translate the film’s visual tone into practical lighting setup, designing, placing, powering, and adjusting lights to enhance mood, tension, and atmosphere. Naidoo’s work helped bring life to the story’s intense rural environments and emotional beats, his lighting choices contributed significantly to the suspense of a PTSD-driven homicide investigation unfolding in a small town,
