The Good Sex Project Podcast and Sapphic Sounds welcome you to DATE MY MATE.
A free sapphic-centered (FLINTA+), queer dating event. Equal parts comedy show, powerpoint night, and matchmaking- followed by some chill time where everyone gets to mingle for dates and/or mates!
How it works:
Upon arrival you grab a badge if you are single/looking to date. (Everyone is welcome - haere mai if you're just coming to hang or support a mate. Flirting is not mandatory!)
Grab a free drink from the lovely bar staff and find a spot with your mates. One ticket= One free drink.
Friends take the stage with a 3-5 minute slide deck to pitch their mates. If you're interested in pitching a mate please register here. No stress if you aren't keen to pitch or be pitched, we need manyyy audience babes- that's you!
Once pitches are done there will be time to mingle and meet with Sapphic Sounds on the decks
p.s. this is a free event but will be raising money for Gender Minorities Aotearoa if you want a sexy little present for a good cause on the night.

- Who is this event for?
Sapphic events cater to our FLINTA whānau (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans and Agender people), a group that is often underrepresented in mainstream events and nightlife spaces. Our aim is to create a safe, inclusive, and celebratory environment where this community is centred.
Wider members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies are always welcome to attend, as long as they are respectful, mindful, and supportive of the space.
- What are the Sapphic Sounds Community Guidelines?
Consent is KEY: Always ask for enthusiastic consent before engaging in any physical contact or interactions. No means no, and boundaries must be respected at all times. For our club nights, we also ask you to please respect our DJs and artists: no touching and no song requests. Please respect their creativity and talent.
Zero tolerance policy: We have zero tolerance for any hate and discrimination. Any form of hate speech, offensive behaviour such as racism, transphobia, fatphobia, homophobia and misogyny will not be tolerated.
Report any concerns: If you experience or witness any behaviours that make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please report to bar, The Good Sex Project, or Sapphic Sound’s staff.
