FROM WASTE TO WATTS The Goods x PowerWells Community Impact Workshop
Description
Some of the best business conversations start with getting your hands dirty - literally.
The Goods is partnering with PowerWells to host a hands-on community impact workshop built to connect people around doing good, and to build the kind of relationships that don't happen in a boardroom.
This event is for business owners who want to do something worthwhile together, and walk away with more than a lanyard and a business card.
We'll start by hearing from the PowerWells team about their mission: providing affordable, clean energy and light to homes and schools across remote communities in Australia and South-East Asia.
Then we get to work. You'll build your own powerbank from scratch, then join a small team of 3-4 to build a PowerWell - a solar system made from repurposed lithium-ion batteries and recycled plastic and Perspex, designed to be durable, repairable and affordable. With solar panels and LED lights, each one gives a household safe, non-polluting energy and light.
Every PowerWell built on the day will be donated to communities in Far North Queensland.
We'll close out over refreshments - time to swap notes on what you built, who you met, and what's next.
What to expect:
