The Great Canterbury Youth Theatre Quiz!

For the first time, join us in a quiz night extravaganza to fundraise for our 2026 scholarship fund. Canterbury Youth Theatre is a Canterbury wide theatre company for rangatahi aged 13-18 to connect with industry leaders in the performing arts. It was founded in 2024 as a collaboration between Hwyl Theatre and the Isaac Theatre Royal.

We are looking to raise $3500 so we can sponsor ten rangatahi to be able to participate in our 2026 CYT production. Funds like these ensure that projects like CYT are open to all that want to participate, not just those that can afford to do so. So this year we thought to make it fun and celebrate everything about CYT through everyone's favourite medium, a QUIZ!

What you can expect

This fundraising evening will start formally at 6:30pm with the quiz but the bar will be open from 6pm so there's plenty of time to order drinks and light bites!

1) An eight round quiz centered all around the world of theatre and the arts. An opportunity to have bragging rights to your friends! Gather your four best quizzing friends and family and book a table!
2) Throughout the night you'll get to hear from some of last years students about their experience of CYT as well as some performances showing off the great local talent we have amongst our city's rangatahi.
3) We'll finish the night with a raffle with some fantastic prizes from some of the cities most recognised businesses including (but not limited to): The Isaac Theatre Royal; Little Andromeda; Willowbank; Beers by Bacon Brothers; Alice Cinema; Uprising; and more!!
