Are you ready to see the world as a collection of possibilities? Whether you are a seasoned artist or someone who hasn't picked up a glue stick since grade school, we invite you to join us for The Great Collage Adventure.

Collage is more than just cutting and pasting—it is the art of reimagining. In this mixed media workshop, we will dive into the fundamental aspects of the craft, exploring how to combine texture, color, and found imagery to tell a brand-new story.

What You’ll Discover:

• Composition Basics: How to arrange your "chaos" into a balanced masterpiece.

• Material Magic: Working with vintage papers, paints, fabrics, and found objects.

• Adhesive Mastery: Learning which glues to use for different surfaces.

• Personal Expression: Finding your unique visual voice through layering.

No matter what your skill level, you are welcome here. This is a space for play, experimentation, and the joy of making a mess that turns into art.

All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any personal scraps, old photos, or interesting bits of paper you’ve been saving for a "rainy day."

About the facilitator:

Kathy Shaw Burnside is an artist of many talents. At this time in her journey she's developed from a bookbinding artist into a junk journaling artist. This art form has its roots in bookmaking, and includes recycling and upcycling. The art form encompasses many of the paper arts genres--watercolor, origami, Zentangle, just to name a few. Kathy presently teach classes at Alamance Arts in Alamance County. Kathy is passionate about her art, and this really comes through in her classes.
