The Stand-up against DV Paddle Board Race, sponsored by Kieser Burleigh, is all about raising vital funds to support victims of domestic violence right here on the Gold Coast. Every dollar raised goes directly to Hearts of Purple, helping provide safety, resources, and hope to those who need it most.

So, it’s time to get your ducks in a row and take a stand against domestic violence in our community. With only 100 race spots available, your chances of taking home the first prize (valued at $1000) are incredible!

Secure your place in the Stand-up against DV Paddle Board Race for just $30 and you’ll be in the running to win one of these fantastic prizes:

  • FIRST PRIZE: Initial Physiotherapy Assessment (1 hour) + 3 months free independent strength training membership at Kieser Burleigh ($1000 value)

PADDLE BOARD RACE – PARTICIPANT GUIDE

*Minimum age requirement - 18 years

BEFORE YOU START

  • Check‑in opens at 11:30am

  • Mandatory safety briefing at the start line

  • Approved paddle board + certified PFD required

  • Warm up only in designated areas

RACE START

  • Line up behind start buoys

  • Wait for countdown + horn

  • False starts may incur penalties

ON THE COURSE

  • Follow all marked buoys

  • Overtake on the right

  • Avoid contact with other paddlers

  • If you fall: remount quickly

  • Need help: raise paddle vertically

SAFETY FIRST

  • Lifeguards + safety boats on course

  • Follow all official instructions immediately

FINISH AREA

  • Paddle fully through finish gate

  • Clear the chute promptly

  • Return race number if required

AFTER THE RACE

  • Hydration + recovery stations available

  • Results posted after verification

  • Report any injuries to event staff

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Respect participants + volunteers

  • Keep waterways clean

  • Prioritise safety at all times

Fine Print

Race Schedule Variation.

The Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads reserves the right to modify the race schedule,

alter the order of events or adjust race times at any time prior to or during the event.

These changes may be made at the organisers sole discretion to accommodate

adverse weather conditions, environmental factors, or unexpected operational

requirements to ensure the safety of participants and the smooth running of the

event. No refunds or compensations will be issued due to schedule changes.

Determination of Race Winners.

The Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads retains ultimate authority over placement of all

participants. The Organiser’s decision regarding the determination of race winners,

podium placements, and the awarding of prizes is final, binding, and not subject to

appeal or dispute.

General release and Indemnity Form.

Prior to participating in the race, all participants will be required to sign an indemnity

form releasing and holding harmless Rotary, its officers, employees, agents, and

volunteers from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of the event.
