Pin the date - the Great Global Mend is back for 2026! Organised by Care to Rewear and FabPatch, this nationwide event will bring people together to extend the life of their clothing and textiles by mending them at the exact same time - 11am on Saturday 7th November.

Get involved to bring your much-loved garment or textile item back into rotation and help reduce Australia's textile waste. No sewing experience needed - whether it's a missing button, loose hem, or small tear, we’ll provide guidance, some sewing supplies, and plenty of encouragement.

Date: Saturday 7th November
Time: Arrive from 10:30am, with mending record count taking place at 11am sharp!
Location: Evelyn H Parker Library, Subiaco
Parking: The closest car park is on the corner of Rokeby Road & Barker Road. Visit https://www.subiaco.wa.gov.au/... to find more local car parks. Alternatively, the library is only a short walk from the Subiaco train station.
What to bring: A garment or textile in need of repair. You are welcome to bring your own needles, thread and other supplies if you have them. We will also have some materials on hand for you to use. Not a sewist? We'll happily provide you with a FabPatch and show you how to use it to mend a hole or tear.

Morning tea will be provided.

Member council tickets are available to residents from Claremont, Cottesloe, Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove & Subiaco. General admission tickets are available for Cambridge, Nedlands and residents from other councils.
