The Great NZ Dog Dash - Brought to you by Barkfest

Event description
Where everyday dogs become legends!
A few years ago, Cambridge played host to the much-loved Pooch Racing – a hilarious, heart-warming event that had tails wagging and the crowd cheering. Now, inspired by that local favourite, we’re taking things up a notch with The Great NZ Dog Dash, debuting at Barkfest Cambridge.
This is a 50m sprint like no other – your dog dashes from one human to another. It’s pure joy, a touch of chaos, and a whole lot of fun for both pups and their people.
Categories include:
Sausage Sprint – For the low-riding, long-bodied legends
Tiny Trotters – Small dogs under ~7kg
Mighty Middies – Medium-sized movers 7-10kg
Burly Bolters – Big-boned, broad-shouldered speedsters
Leggy Legends – Long-legged Lopers (you know who you are!)
Freestyle Fidos – Think you can take anyone on and don't like been stereotyped? Enter this category and be prepared to race all sizes, all comers.
It’s all about having a good laugh, celebrating our furry friends, and reviving the competitive spirit that made Cambridge Pooch Racing such a hit. But be warned… dog mums and dads can be just as competitive as the pups!
Each Dog entered must be accompanied by two confident and responsible humans aged 8 or over (one is at the start and one is at the finish!).
Depending on the number of entrants, there may be straight finals or heats and finals. Top 3 in each final receive a prize.
