The Great Yarra Colouring Class
Event description
At the Great Yarra Colouring Class, kids, parents and other Yarra, Birrarung lovers will colour a word about the river in natural inks sourced from the river corridor. Organic colour is gorgeous! You’ll be amazed by how simple it is to paint with bark, earth and petal inks.Â
We’ll take a walk in the park by the river to help you find your special word. When it’s dry your word will join up with all the others into a documentary work of art. You’ll also get to colour in a Yarra, Birrarung zine and learn more about the river and how it’s best taken care of. We hope you’ll visit the river more often after this event. Maybe you’ll think about taking part in a planting. And of course keep trying out waste free art resources.
This event is proudly sponsored by the City of Yarra.
Getting there:Â Take the 70 tram. Closest stop is 6-Park Gr/Swan St (Burnley) or take Glen Waverley train to Burnley and walk 10 minutes

Acknowledgement of Country
The Yarra Riverkeeper Association acknowledges that the lands and waterways of the Yarra, Birrarung catchment, are the unceded territories of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung and Bunurong peoples. We pay respect to Traditional Owners, who have, and continue, to care for Country. We acknowledge that the river now called Yarra has always been known as the Birrarung by its custodians.
