Join us for an evening of history, memory and identity 🇬🇷

The Melbourne University Greek Association invites you to an engaging evening, exploring the history and experiences the Greeks of Asia Minor, including Pontus, and Eastern Thrace, and the ways in which their history, memory and identity have shaped Greek communities in Australia.

Join us for a special lecture presented by Dr Themistocles Kritikakos, as we reflect on the experiences of these communities, their journeys to Australia, and the enduring role of history and collective memory in shaping identity across generations.

Dr Themistocles Kritikakos is a historian and writer who completed his PhD in History at the University of Melbourne. His research focuses on genocide, memory, intergenerational trauma, identity and diaspora communities. He is the author of Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian Genocide Recognition in Twenty-First Century Australia: Memory, Identity, and Cooperation (Palgrave Macmillan, 2026).
