A Career Conversation for Environmental Students – Learn, Reflect, Connect
Are you a student interested in learning how to conduct environmental research and translate it into a career in the environmental field with an impact? Then this event is for you!
Join us for an inspiring and practical conversation with alumni, researchers, and professionals who have walked the path you're on. You'll hear honest reflections on research, job-hunting, and working in the environmental field, from council consulting to sustainability services and academia.
👥 Guest speakers:
Taylor Coyne: PhD candidate with the Environment and Society Group at UNSW Sydney. He critically examines the history, design, and governance of Sydney's urban stormwater infrastructure. He also works as a seasonal lecturer at UNSW and is part of the Yerrabingin’s Connection with Country team, serving as a project leader.
Mitchel Parker: Sustainability Officer with a focus on education and outreach, urban biodiversity and design, nature connection, climate change adaptation and mitigation, renewable energy and sustainable transport. He has led countless community-based sustainability programs such as Canopy Fest, community micro-forest, and Youth Climate and Biodiversity Forum.
Anil Babu: He is a climate services consultant with a blend of experience in environmental management and audit assurance, gained from roles at EY, UNSW, RSM, and The City of Sydney. He is also the mastermind behind the award-winning UNSW Bush Tucker Trail project, which incorporates traditional Aboriginal knowledge about food ecology.
