The Grogans:

Genre-expanding outfit The Grogans are a trio of best friends from Melbourne who explore nuanced manoeuvres in surf, punk, blues, garage, psych, rockabilly and reggae. Banding together in high school playing backyard gigs and weekly jam nights, seasoned musicians Quin Grunden, Angus Vasic and Jordan Lewis shared their first official release Cacteyed in the summer of ‘16. The EP’s instantaneous and lasting reception was matched by the band’s playful successor Twangs n’ Cans the following year.

Their third EP Grogan Grove (2018) featured the outfit’s still lauded live favourite ‘Lemon To My Lime’ which has now clocked over four million Spotify streams and subsequently catapulted The Grogans to the top of the nation’s ones-to-watch list. That same summer, the boys kicked off their first national headline tour including festival slots at Melbourne Music Week’s CIVIC SOUNDS and NinchFest. Cutting the ribbon on their debut album Just What You Want, 2019 saw the band perform at Loch Hart Music Festival and sell out multiple venues across Australia. In the year following, The Grogans dropped their self-recorded and mixed magnum opus Day / To / Day resulting in a completely sold out National AUS Tour. Following this album, the band released their third LP ‘Which Way Is Out’, featuring singles ‘Just A Kid’, ‘Be Your Man’, ‘Inside My Mind’ & ‘No Thanks (I’m Going Surfing)’. Through this release the band sold out shows around AUS including Corner Hotel in Melbourne.

The Velvet Club:

From backyard parties to festival stages, Melbourne based indie-rock outfit The Velvet Club have been steadily developing a loyal fan base over the years. With a focus on their high energy live show, the band have been consistently touring Australia since 2022. Creating hazy indie-rock coupled with self-reflective lyricism touching on the highs and lows of navigating life through your twenties. Drawing comparisons from early 2000’s indie legends The Strokes, The Vaccines and Australian favourites DMA’S & Rolling Blackouts.

The Velvet Club have just announced their debut album, ‘Are You Falling In Love?’, a ten track record that touches on relationships, mental health and friendship, fuelled by jangly guitars and hooks that move from bright to melancholic and back again. The album featured fan favourite singles, ‘Anything’, ‘Blue’ and their most recent track ‘We Don’t Talk’

Des Cortez:

Three best friends growing up around the city of Melbourne, hazy indie outfit Des Cortez are next up to be Victoria’s no.1 musical export. Formed in the Summer after 2020, Sam, Dev and Paddy have notched up over 100 live shows, including a sold-out Espy headline, two east coast tours and support slots for the likes of The Rions, South Summit, and Dear Sunday.

Their self-taught sounds and high energy shows have cemented the band as a staple in Melbourne’s nightlife and live music scene, and earnt them a strong and supportive fanbase. Des Cortez’s new single ‘Running’, produced by Phil Threlfall (Seaweed on Sticks, Kita Alexander, Thelma Plum), is a heartfelt and energetic endeavour that reflects their growth as musicians, with more works to come.
