What is it?
After the successful delivery of Te Tiriti and Me on Waitangi Day this year, we are bringing the roadshow back! In 2026, we’re changing things up to a touring theatre show which has been designed to be presented in schools and community spaces:
Taki Rua Productions and Īhaka Martyn present: He Māori?
Īhaka Martyn will have you laughing and crying as he weaves elements of stand-up comedy, waiata and physical performance to explore the confusion, comedy and celebration of reclaiming his Māoritanga from a Pākehā upbringing. It is a journey from total confusion to partial understanding.
He aha? He Māori? Is he? Maybe - it depends
He Māori is a 60 minute performance with a short Q+A session afterwards. Suitable for all ages.
All sessions are free, but require bookings due to venue capacities.
When is it?
Thursday 6 February 2025 – Waitangi Day. You are warmly invited to join us for a free presentation of He Māori? Followed by a short Q+A.
