The Heat is On in SoHo
Event description
The Heat Is On is an interactive role-playing game where young people (ages 11–16) become decision-makers shaping the future of their communities. Guided by climate scientists and educators from the University of Tasmania, participants will learn, play, and problem-solve together in a hands-on, thought-provoking, and fun experience.
In the game, we fast-forward to the year 2050 - when most players will be in their late 30s or 40s, living in a world shaped by more frequent and intense extreme weather events. Each team takes on the role of a town council on the island of Adaptania, tasked with helping their community adapt and thrive in the face of climate change.
This unique game blends science, strategy, and imagination - offering young people the chance to see themselves as future leaders, working together to create a thriving, sustainable world.
The game will begin at 1:30 and finish around 3pm.
