PLEASE NOTE: This is an in-person event only. This event will not be live-streamed. 

Presented by 'Welcome to Day One' with MC Lauren Capelin in partnership with major sponsors MYOB, AWS Startups, Investment NSW & CSIRO, you are invited to our launch event for our long-time coming audio documentary: The History of the Australian Startup Ecosystem. 

Doors open at 5:00 pm. The event kicks off at 5:30 pm. 

  • ADVANCE ACCESS: ALL Ticket holders will get advance access to the first three episodes of the six-part audio documentary one month before the series is released publically. Access will be given on the night of the event. The full six episodes will be released one month later. 
  • PANEL: A two-part panel hosted by Simon Thomsen.
    • Part 1- A look back with stories from Niki Scevak (Blackbird Ventures), Dr Michelle Deaker (OneVentures) and Alan Jones (Fishburners) about the early days of the ecosystem. 
    • Part 2- A look forward to what needs to be done to continue growing Australia's startup community with panellists: Marina Wu (Earlywork), Cheryl Mack (Aussie Angels), Preethi Mohan (NiceTo), Larry Marshall (CSIRO) and The Honourable Malcolm Turnbull AC, 29th Prime Minister of Australia. 
  • TIMELINE: Add your own memories and recollections to our 6-metre timeline wall installation aimed at capturing the startup ecosystem's growth over time. (A digital version will be made public later, including all the events added by our live audience on the night.)
  • TRAILER: A short opening panel with the team from Welcome to Day One on creating the series and documentary, followed by a first listen to the documentary trailer.
  • Food and drink are provided.
