Visit the Midland Junction Arts Centre Open Day and explore the Land for Wildlife displays and activities. Join Una Bell, environmental enthusiast and WA Herbarium Research Associate, as she discusses the importance of the native grasses of the Swan Coastal Plain and Perth hills.

ARTIST BIO | Una Bella
Living in Mundaring for over 40 years, Una has been actively involved in local community environmental work - the founding member and current Chair of the Jane Brook Catchment Group, plus co-ordinator of several Shire Friends Groups. Her publications include Common Native Grasses of South-West WA (2008 reprinted 2010, 2017); The Value of Fringing Vegetation (2012, 2019); and Native Grasses of Perth Hills: field guide to identification (2018).
In 2018 Una was recognised for her environmental work as the recipient of the Dr Ian Colquhoun Lifetime Achievement Award to celebrate 20 years of the Swan Alcoa Landcare Program. In 2021 she received the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Conservation Council WA. As a Research Associate at the WA Herbarium where she specialises in grasses. For the last few years Una has been teaching Botanical Art and Drawing at Mundaring Adult Creative and Learning Centre.
