Event description

After 7 years of making music, The Inadequates have finally decided to book their own headline show to promote their brand-new merch. For those of you ready to argue “They’ve already had a headline show.” They didn’t book it. Long story. Shut up. Don’t care.

Some have suggested this is far too early and they should wait another 7 years, or just give up entirely. Their response to these naysayers has been nothing short of inspirational:

“We have merch!” “Come buy it!”

The Inadequates are thrilled to announce that indie-folk trio Thursday Maybe will be joining them, who have just released their new single “Close is Enough.

Come and join us for a what will be a tremendous night of folk, harmonies and most importantly, merch.

What to expect:

Formed in Brisbane, indie-folk trio 'Thursday Maybe' combine lush vocals, acoustic textures and heartfelt three-part harmonies to create their signature intimate sound. Comprising Jemima Laag, Annabelle Barnes and Ella Jones, the three unique individuals bring together authentic melodic thoughts, charming lyricism and a warm hug of acoustic guitar sounds.

The Inadequates are an award-winning trio known for their energetic performances and innovative acoustic sound. Growing rapidly within the Australian folk scene, they have been likened to bands such as Nickel Creek, Mumford & Sons and Punch Brothers (but much worse). With a catalogue of intricate original music focusing on their tight 3-part harmonies and technical skill, the boys are currently producing their first album which they plan on releasing within the next year (to rave reviews). They perform in their signature bright suits and feature banjo, mandolin, guitar and accordion, nearly all at the same time too (clever boys!). The Inadequates have become favourites at a variety of folk festivals and are thrilled to bring a bunch of fresh material and brand-new merch to ISAS.
