Event description

In honour of World French Language Day, our next International Storytellers Film Series screening brings you “Samba, a heartfelt French film that explores the human side of migration.

The story follows Samba, a migrant from Senegal who has lived in Paris for over a decade, working low-wage jobs while trying to secure legal residency. When he crosses paths with a burnt-out immigration volunteer, an unexpected connection forms, blending humour, romance, and a raw look at the challenges faced by migrants in search of belonging.

With its mix of comedy, compassion, and cultural insight, Samba shines a light on the universal desire for connection and dignity—a message that sits at the very heart of what we do at Lakes Multicultural Collective.
