Regional areas are often without proper physical access for people in wheelchairs or walking aids, as many buildings were built in a time before accessibility was acknowledged as a human right. Many historical buildings are not able to be modified due to the constraints around heritage overlays, making the addition of elevators or hearing loops difficult. This lack of access can leave people living with disability isolated and rejected by society.

But there are no physical walls around the LGBTIQA+ community. Yet, there is often a lack of access, and inclusion, for Queer people living with seen and unseen disabilities who try to engage with the broader LGBTIQA+ community. This lack of inclusion ensures only the "able" can gain access and fully participate in the rainbow community. Events are often created without thought to the needs of, or adherence to inclusive practices for, people living with disability.

This event is created to centre the voices of regional Queer people living with disability. Panelists will be given the platform to publicly share their personal expression of what Pride means for them, while offering insights into how the LGBTIQA+ community can become better allies for Queer people living with disability.

This event will be broadcast live, from the studio of the award winning LaNCE TV, to community television station C31 Melbourne and simulcast across participating Facebook pages as part of Victoria's Pride - Regional Activation Program
