Hogarth Hughes, a young boy living with his single mother, yearns for more in life. When a giant robot from outer space crash lands in his small town, he gets far more than he bargained for. The sudden appearance of this gentle giant sets in motion a chain of events and a shady government conspiracy that sees the unlikely friends mixed into an adventure of a lifetime.

Written and directed by Brad Bird, who would later give the world Pixar favourites such as The Incredibles and Ratatouille cements his place as a soft and humanistic writer with what may be is most heart-rending and beautiful work to date, that is still beloved 25 years later.
