☆☆☆☆ “Brash, Ballsy and Brilliant!” - Sydney Scoop
☆☆☆☆ “... as fresh and delectable as a fresh biscotti, as zany and energetic as an Italian espresso with the depraved humour brought on by a shot of Grappa” - Theatre Thoughts
This uproariously funny and original Italian-Australian comedy covers all things Italiano: Nonna’s sugo, domineering parents, the immigrant story and Anthony Albanese.
The Italians is the story of Joe, a millennial Italian-Australian who gets caught up in the passions and politics of ethnic family traditions, the underbelly of Sydney’s Italian mafia, the dodgy dealings of Sicilian property developers and the proper way to cook tiramisu.
Written and brought to the stage by proudly Italian-Australian actor, producer, and writer, Danny Ball, The Italians premiered for a sold-out season at Sydney's Belvoir Street Theatre in 2022. The digital production, captured by Australian Theatre Live, in available now!
