Event description

With a “think global, act local” philosophy, the Junto Dinner Club provides a two-course meal with a cash bar, and a guest speaker with topics following the United Nations Calendar. A bit of what is happening in the world, and here.   It is for people who live, work or volunteer within the Shire of Denmark (and friends) so that we can share a nice meal together, catch up with each other, and learn a bit more about our world.

This event celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, with our guest speaker one of our very own women scientists, Dr Wiebke Ebeling.

Wiebke has a background in the biological sciences and completed a PhD in Neuroscience at the Australian National University in Canberra, working across various Universities throughout Australia.  In 2018, she took on the role of Centre Manager for Marine Energy Research Australia (MERA) – now the Great Southern Marine Research Facility. Wiebke is also a Board Director at the Southern Ports Authority, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Chair of the Great Southern Science Council, and an Executive within the industry-led Australian Ocean Energy Group.

You will see that there is an option to purchase a ticket to donate to enable one of our high school student leaders to come along.

Please join us for an enjoyable and interesting evening.
