The Beck Sian - Kate Bush connection

Beck's Nana (her dad’s mother), Kathleen, and Kate Bush’s mum, Hannah, were sisters. So, Kate and Beck's dad, David, were first cousins. Kate and Beck are ‘cousins once removed’.

“So what?” I hear some of you ask… well, Beck is super-proud of the family connection and is happy to tell the world of the huge influence that Kate and her music have had on her life. Kate’s albums are such an important part of Beck's life’s soundtrack. She feels very grateful and lucky.

Beck grew up watching Kate Bush release each new single onto the charts on the telly here in Australia, and picking up on the buzz from her family, who were so excited for Kate and the Bush family.

Kate became one of Beck's biggest inspirations and is the reason she attended dance classes throughout her youth. Beck taught herself to sing and stretch her vocal range by singing along with Kate’s songs.

We are very excited that Beck has agreed to perform a very special show in April. For one night only, Beck will perform Kate Bush’s ‘The Kick Inside’ album in its entirety (with a few bonus surprises thrown in).

The PAVED Festival is thrilled to present this very special concert.

Beck and her band will perform at the GEM Theatre, in Emerald (here in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges), east of Melbourne.
