The Late Show Pres. Ewan Jansen (Live) & Locky Mazzucchelli
Event description
ON AIR –
Don’t be fooled by the name, this ain’t a talk show.
Quality audio should be at the forefront of any event pushing underground music, from the selector and their deep dug treasure chest that is their record bag, to the rig that compliments the selections. Sadly this is a rarity these days, and exactly why The Late Show aims at bringing dedicated diggers and bespoke analog sound to dance floors around Eora/Sydney.
The team are launching into a heavy-duty lineup for their debut soirée, lead by OG Australian producer Ewan Jansen and fellow Boorloo/Perth native Locky Mazzucchelli with classy local supports in tow in the form of:
AMY
Barnacle Bill
KNA
Lewba
Louis Costa
Nathaniel Garry
Subaske
Suttz
Tangela
Uncle Jordo & Aunty Donna
Wilfy G
Come Saturday 07.01.23 the valves will open from 9pm at The Bridge Hotel - the ideal setting for a low light, late night expedition through sound. Get to know our pilots below…
EWAN JANSEN
Hailing from Perth, Ewan Jansen made his mark on house music between 1997-2001 on his label Red Ember Records. While some of these records eventually found their way off the island (awaiting the future clutches of discogs), Ewan made appearances on the legendary US deep house labels Trackmode Recordings and Deep4Life with his first album released in 2004 through Moods & Grooves.
Fast forward to 2015, brand new tracks found their place on Inner Balance, IILE, Freerange Records and Australia’s own Butter Sessions. Red Ember Records also returned with Ewan kick-starting a 15 year break with the sublime Aqua Libre EP.
In 2019 Ewan dove into performing live. His signature style of dusty back-room deep house has found his latest European tour to include stops with The Ghost at The Pickle Factory London, Seekers at Hoppetosse Berlin, Kommuna Barcelona, Ibiza and the list goes on.
LOCKY MAZZUCCHELLI
Born in Perth, honed his craft in Nuremberg and now propelling his sound in Berlin, Locky Mazzucchelli has begun to build himself a reputable status for his otherworldly and obscure productions, intelligently weaved together in his DJ sets. In turn, he’s landed himself solid releases on Fantasy Attitude and Ewan’s Red Ember, with some heavy forthcoming action on Mood Waves, the prolific outfit he’s affiliated with.
With an impeccable taste for all things trippy yet effective, Locky continues to find himself playing regularly around Berlin, Ukraine, Paris and now back in his homeland of Aus. His vibe is spreading like wildfire and for good reason, he is most certainly dedicated to the dig.
