Event description

The BCC is pleased to welcome international guest speaker Sean Larkins from WPP Government and Public Sector Practice in the UK, to present findings from The Leaders' Report, at this free seminar.

Sean is visiting Australia to brief Federal and State governments on WPP's Government and Public Sector Practice Leaders' Report. The BCC has arranged this unique event to provide an opportunity for communications professionals who work in Western Australian local governments, non-profits, charities, academia and social enterprises to also hear it first-hand.

Sean's session will focus on the role of communication in responding to the increasing divisions within society, and how to engage with hard-to-reach and marginalised audiences in the interest of greater diversity and inclusion. It is based on global quantitative and qualitative research which asked:

  • The role of government communication in responding to increasing divisions within society
  • The challenge of connecting effectively with marginalised and hard-to-reach groups and communities
  • The role communicators can and should play in fostering a more cohesive society

Sean will look at the key findings from their latest research from both a global and Australian-specific perspective, discuss emerging issues and share key learnings that communicators and policy professionals can take back to their desks.

The presentation will run for about 45 minutes, with ample opportunity for Q&A and networking.  Light refreshments will be provided.

This is a free event, presented to share knowledge and help build capacity and capability within local governments, non-profits, charities, academia and social enterprises. As places are limited, please cancel your ticket if unable to attend, to ensure others don't miss out on this valuable session.  For catering purposes, ticket bookings close at 12pm on Thursday 30 March.

To transfer your ticket to another attendee, please contact us at events@thebcc.org.au.
