    Event description

The Lidcombe Program is an evidence-based intervention for childhood stuttering. Numerous research studies and clinical trials around the world have consistently shown that the program yields significant reductions in stuttering frequency and severity in young children. The approach is characterized by its early intervention focus, which requires active participation of the child’s carer/s, who play a crucial role in the planning, provision, problem solving and evaluation of the treatment, when working closely with a speech pathologist. With its emphasis on the child practising stutter-free speech in a fun and safe environment, while receiving carefully provided feedback about their talking, the Lidcombe Program provides parents and speech pathologists with an effective and well-researched way to address early stuttering.

Dive into the world of the Lidcombe Program and gain skills and knowledge to equip you to help your young clients to become ‘smooth talkers’. Join us on January 19, 2024, for an immersive face-to-face experience that promises to deepen your understanding and sharpen your skills in implementing the Lidcombe Program.

Embark on a journey of professional growth with our comprehensive training, designed for speech pathologists and final year students seeking to consolidate their use of this evidence-based treatment. The Lidcombe Program stands out for its effectiveness in reducing stuttering in young children. This course will cover the theoretical foundations of the approach, provide hands-on practical experiences, and insights into tailoring the intervention for your clients. Plus, the best part - all surplus proceeds from this course will go to the Little Bugs Foundation, supporting children in need.
