    Event description

The Little Book of Restorative Discipline for Schools by Lorraine Stutzman Amstutz & Judy H. Mullet provides a concise and practical guide to implementing restorative discipline practices in educational settings. The book introduces restorative justice principles as an alternative to traditional punitive approaches, aiming to create a more supportive and respectful school environment.

The authors emphasize the importance of fostering accountability, empathy, and community building within schools. The book offers insights into restorative discipline techniques, including proactive strategies for preventing conflicts and reactive approaches to address issues when they arise. Through real-world examples and case studies, readers understand how restorative practices can be integrated into daily school life.

This resource is precious for educators, administrators, and school staff seeking effective ways to address discipline issues while promoting a positive and inclusive school culture. The Little Book of Restorative Discipline for Schools is a practical handbook, guiding readers toward building stronger, more connected school communities through restorative justice principles.

During each book club session, we will discuss the main points, quotes, and details we gleaned from the reading, build community, and expand our comprehension of the general topic. We will also connect to outside events and how they relate to the topic.
