Join us for Walk and talk with the Liwik Barring team to learn about the transformation of this section of the Little Yarra River and how it fits with the wider Liwik Barring area. Learn more about the successful collaboration between DEECA and Melbourne Water and the future plans to connect this area to its surroundings and our community.

This event is being hosted by Melbourne Water and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA).

Getting there: ‘Ride your bike or walk from Yarra Junction along the Warburton Trail and just before you cross the bridge over Little Yarra River, take the new track to your right south towards the Warburton Highway. Alternatively, park your car in the turn-out space off the Warburton Highway at the old picnic area - just before the highway bridge over the Little Yarra River.’

Please note: Closest public toilets are in Yarra Junction. Limited drinking water will be provided so we recommend you bring your own water bottles.

Accessibility: The track is a flat gravel path and accessible to people in a wheelchair, however, may be muddy depending on the weather. We cannot guarantee wheelchair or pram accessibility. Riverfest welcomes everyone—we’re committed to making our events accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities. If you have accessibility needs and require support to attend, please email carolyn.tate@yarrariver.org.au

Acknowledgement of Country

The Yarra Riverkeeper Association acknowledges that the lands and waterways of the Yarra, Birrarung catchment, are the unceded territories of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung and Bunurong peoples. We pay respect to Traditional Owners, who have, and continue, to care for Country. We acknowledge that the river now called Yarra has always been known as the Birrarung by its custodians.
