Dreams are often considered mysterious nighttime stories, but they can provide a doorway into so much more. Arriving as fragments, symbols, landscapes or fleeting encounters, they can offer rich, fertile material to explore.

Some dreams stay with us. A strange house. A cat glittering in gold. A sense of falling. A feeling we cannot quite shake. We are all dreamers here…

In this experiential workshop, participants are invited into a creative exploration of dreams through embodied inquiry, creative process and reflective practice.

Moving beyond interpretation, this workshop invites participants to engage with dreams through symbol, body, image and creative inquiry. Drawing on transpersonal, phenomenological and trauma-informed perspectives, the workshop offers opportunities to explore dreams in ways that deeply honour curiosity, active imagination and personal meaning-making.

Through symbol exploration, dream re-entry and arts-based processes, participants will have the opportunity to explore the relationship between dream, body, image and material. Throughout the afternoon, we will begin to witness how creative process can become a living bridge between dream experience and waking life.

While highly experiential, the workshop will also offer opportunities to reflect on how dreamwork processes may be used and adapted in therapeutic and professional contexts.

Participants will receive a range of resources to support ongoing exploration and integration.

During this workshop, there will be an opportunity to:

Explore personal and archetypal dream symbols
Engage with dream imagery through movement, creative process and reflection
Experience dream re-entry through sensory and phenomenological approaches
Create 2D visual and 3D sculptural responses to dream landscapes and symbols
Reflect on the relationship between dream, body, image and material
Explore approaches that support curiosity, agency and self-paced inquiry

This workshop may resonate with you if you are:

Someone who is curious about dreams, symbolism and creativity
Interested in embodied or arts-based approaches to self-inquiry
A practitioner, student or lived-experience learner interested in experiential process who feels called to explore dreams in this way
Seeking a meaningful pause for reflection, imagination and creative exploration

No prior dreamwork or arts experience is required.

Becoming the Dreamer

Leading up to this workshop, you might like to keep a dream journal by your bed and begin to notice dreams, dream fragments, recurring symbols, people, places or emotional atmospheres that capture your attention. In this journal, you may wish to jot down notes, sketch images, or record dream symbols as they emerge. This is entirely optional and offered simply as a way of beginning a conversation with your dreams before we gather.

What to bring (optional):

A journal or notebook (if you have been recording dreams)
Any dream notes, sketches or symbols you would like to work with
Curiosity and a willingness to explore
