The Lofty Mountain Band with Laurel - SOLD OUT

Adelaide folk and bluegrass darlings, The Lofty Mountain Band bring their debut release into the world on Sunday, February 4th at Oddio in Bowden.

Fronted by inveterate Adelaide raconteur, Max Savage, the Lofty Mountain band are Stevie Pederson, Tom Kneebone, Django Rowe, Tom Boehm, Dylan Paul, Chelsea Lee and Chelsea McGuinness.

With an intoxicating blend of tight vocal harmonies, virtuosic playing, yearning, wit and melancholy, their music is ethereal and grounded, often devastating and occasionally transcendent.

Playing in support are Laurel, who have emerged in the past twelve months as a fresh and exciting new voice in South Australian music with an intoxicating mix of jazz, folk and pop.

About the record:

Recorded at Mixmasters Studios August of 2023, Winter Songs is a soaring achievement of songwriting and musicianship.

Tracking was done live around a single ribbon microphone, a seldom-used technique which brings a sense of proximity, space and intimacy to the music. A collection of love songs, this is a  record which manages to be, by turns, sacral, solemn, melancholy and uplifting.
