The Luddenden Shroud film showing and Q&A
Online Event
Description
This short film (30mins) tells the story of the making of the Luddenden Shroud, a hand-felted woollen shroud along with a woven cradle crafted from foraged ivy, bramble, holly and willow. The project was born out of the conversations between Rachel Hawthorn and her friend Janet and was commissioned as part of Culturedale, Calderdale's year of culture 2024/2025. The film reveals the story of a unique collaborative process and explores themes of death and grief, relationship to place and the healing powers of nature.
This online event includes a 30 min film showing followed by 30-45 min Q&A and conversation.
