Showcasing the outstanding work and personal stories of creative industry professionals, SAE University College’s Maker Series of live events provides a platform for ‘makers’ to share their inspirational journeys and industry insights. 

Join us on Wednesday 9 April at SAE Melbourne or online via Zoom for the second installment The Makers Series: Reel Talk on Film Production. 

During this event, you will gain insight into the world of film production from our industry guests – award-winning film & TV producer Nicole O’Donohue and SAE’s expert film lecturer Robbie Studsor. 

In addition to hearing from our guest speakers, you’ll have the opportunity to ask Nicole your burning questions during our Q&A, plus get a selfie during the pre-event meet and greet.

About our guests 🎬 


Award-winning Film & TV Producer, Nicole O’Donohue 

Nicole O’Donohue is an award-winning Sydney-based film and TV producer with over 20 years of experience bringing stories to life on screen. Her diverse body of work spans feature films, television series and documentaries, earning accolades both in Australia and internationally. 

Nicole’s impressive credits include feature films The Daughter (starring Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush & Miranda Otto), Griff the Invisible, and AACTA Award-winner Otto by Otto. In television, she has produced hit series like Exposure, Frayed, Offspring, and Sisters. Her work in short films is equally celebrated, with The Mechanicals, Katoomba, and Spider, which received an honourable mention at the Sundance Film Festival. 

With a deep understanding of the creative, financial and logistical aspects of filmmaking, Nicole’s expertise lies in transforming ideas into fully realised productions. From development to final cut, she knows exactly what it takes to make a TV show or film come to life. 

SAE Film Lecturer, Dr. Robbie Studsor 

Robbie Studsor is an award-winning Australian independent director/producer and film lecturer. He has worked across various independent feature length and short productions for over a decade and in 2018, his feature film debut as director was sold internationally.  

Robbie was awarded his PhD in 2011 with a focus on Italian cinema and has been lecturing in both practical filmmaking and cinema theory since 2006.
