Webinar 2: Challenging Claims - Learnings from Formal Reviews (ON DEMAND)

In this webinar we cover our learnings from challenging claims with ACC. These typically go to Formal Review (sits below District Court level) and ACC in most cases use external Council.

Webinar 3: Transitioning into the ACC Accredited Employer Programme

Martin interviews Craig Furness, Head of Gallagher Bassett who are a Third Party Administrator (TPA). Martin also draws input from Rachel Lilley from TBI Health, who provide Allied Health Services to Gallagher Bassett and other TPA's and companies who self-insurance.

Craig Furness - CEO @ Gallagher Bassett

Craig has over 28 years’ experience in Senior Management positions, including working for AXA, Colonial Mutual, Marsh/Mercer, Sovereign and serving as CEO of Cosignia for 8 years. When Gallagher Bassett acquired Cosignia in 2015, Craig moved into the role of CEO. Under his leadership, Gallagher Bassett has expanded rapidly to become the leading Third Party Administrator in New Zealand, operating in the areas of Personal Injury claims management, Life and Health, General Insurance, and Occupational Health. Craig’s specialist skills include a focus on strategy and growth, expertise in claims and policy management, quality assurance and service excellence. Under his leadership GB in New Zealand has tripled in size in under six years resulting in GB being acknowledged as the leading multi–disciplinary TPA in New Zealand specialising in support for employers participating in the ACC Accredited Employer Programme for both work and non-work injuries.

Rachel Lilley - National Vocational Services Manager @ TBI Health

Rachel is the manager of TBI Health’s Vocational Services. She worked in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy for some years before making a shift into Occupational Health physiotherapy in the early 2000s. Rachel completed a postgraduate certificate in Physiotherapy (endorsed in Occupational Health) in 2007 and has been working in this field since then. Rachel is currently chairperson of the Occupational Health Physiotherapy Group and represents this group on the HASANZ (Health and Safety Association of New Zealand) leadership committee.

Sue Walton - General Manager @ Manage Group

Sue comes from ACC where her last role was as Relationship Manager looking after both employers and intermediaries… like us at Manage Group. At Manage Group, aside from being GM, Sue looks after the ACC division covering both ACC Levy Risk and Claims. Her experience and knowledge in this space is invaluable. Sue understands how important your business is to you and that dealing with a Government Department (Crown Agency) can be very frustrating to say the least. Sue spends a fair bit of time challenging workplace claims to have them removed from her client’s profile. These typically end up at Review where we argue with ACC external lawyers. Needless to say, the learnings obtained from this is worth sharing.

Martin Wouters - Managing Director @ Manage Group

Martin has delivered 100's of presentations, seminars and webinars over the last 10 years covering Government Compliance risk - Worksafe and ACC. Martin and Manage Group are fully focused on the employer and making sure they are treated fairly and equitably. ACC Claims are no exception.
