The Matchbox Show Workshop
Description
Join us to explore creativity on a tiny scale in this hands-on workshop with ceramicists Michael and Nina Ciavarella. Create a miniature ceramic artwork that fits inside a standard Redheads matchbox. Your finished piece will become part of the Matchbox Show Collection, a growing exhibition featuring more than 800 tiny artworks created by artists from around the world.
You will be guided through the process of sculpting a unique clay creation, then painting and decorating both the artwork and the matchbox tray to create a complete miniature display.
During the workshop, you will:
Design your own miniature artwork.
Sculpt a clay creation sized to fit inside a matchbox.
Paint and decorate your clay sculpture. (These will later be fired)
Decorate the matchbox tray to complement and showcase your creation.
Think small, be creative, and remember: tiny artworks can tell big stories!
