The Memory Place

For people who want to investigate and write creatively about personal or family

history. Working from a memento, treasured object or piece of clothing, participants

will be guided through a series of writing exercises to draft a poem or short prose

piece. In this 3 hour workshop, emphasis is made on slowing down, making

connections between strands of memory, observation, and imagination; and adding

the element of surprise to your writing. Bring along a treasured object or piece of

clothing that you’d like to write about. Paper and pens supplied.
