Our last show for this year is going to be more than memorable. This month we present two brilliant local bands from the Beaches, both of whom focus on delivering unbridled entertainment.

On Friday November 8 we present THE MEZCALTONES + LAMBROS.

The Mezcaltones look like something out of a Quentin Tarantino movie - four cowboys (Don Juan, Don Too, El Shango and Feelthy Lucre) and two sultry looking Mexican Senoritas (Mimi and Neralita). They mount the stage to the thunderous theme from ‘The Magnificent Seven’ and that kinda sets the tone for what’s to come.

The band’s original songs have an Alt-Country flavour with rich Cowboy guitar sounds… but they also reach into the realms of '60s Surf Instrumentals (think Dick Dale and Link Wray).  It’s like Pulp Fiction meets The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. You’ll hear songs from Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez films, next to others that pay homage to Santana, Waylon Jennins and Los Lobos. The show is slick, edgy, almost dangerous, as lead singer Col Padre (aka Don Too) belts out tunes in a voice limed with tequila in between delivering a bag full of one-liners. Next to him, the eye-catching Mimi simultaneously performs exotic dance moves, full of contagious energy and a bag of tricks that includes percussion, masks, scarves, belts, ribbons and more.

The Mezcaltones have played the Tamworth Country Music Festival (5 times) and the Sydney Blues & Roots Festival.  They currently have three film clips being played on Foxtel’s CMC and this year released their third album titled ‘Mexican Hillbilly Surf Music’.

Opening the show are brothers Connor & Harry Lambrou, who have been entertaining audiences as LamBros with their unique brand of music and infectious passion at venues right across Australia. Their original songs encompass Rock, Indie, Blues, Soul, Funk and Folk, the brothers seamlessly blending genres through their matchless use of sounds such as the didgeridoo, distorted acoustic guitar, raw vocals, and a thumping homemade hybrid drum-kit.

LamBros has performed alongside multi-platinum artists Larkin Poe, Tones and I, Thirsty Merc and Mental as Anything, and has appeared at numerous festivals across the nation. Featuring Connor on vocals, guitar, bass and harmonica, and Harry on drums, percussion, didgeridoo and backing vocals, the band’s first single ‘Do Something’ reached No. 1 on the national AMRAP charts.  Their latest single, ‘Blues Within’ is currently being played in no less than 52 countries around the world!

Real brothers… real music… real different.
