The Milk Carton Confessions
Event description
Milk Carton Confessions is a live performance featuring music, movement and film by percussionist Thea Rossen, composer Michael Sollis and Ellenbrook youth community performers exploring disposable culture and consumption.Â
Milk Carton Confessions combines live music with a range of sources including interviews from residents of the City of Swan, archival footage and the operations of recycling plants, including Bullsbrook Recycling centre.Â
Following a series of workshops, watch as Thea and the community performers transform a variety of recycled material into sound making devices to explore the sounds of the ocean, disposable culture, guilt and confession, and the cyclic nature of the world.Â
This bespoke presentation of Milk Carton Confessions promises to question our understanding of recycling, and invites us to consider our own recycling confessions.
