The Modern Preserver - Kylee Newton
Mitre 10 MEGA New Plymouth, in association with Taranaki Garden Festival, is proud to host The Modern Preserver, Kylee Newton.
Kylee Newton is a preserver, cook, writer and educator. She was the founder and owner of the preserving company Newton & Pott, a London (Hackney) based brand dedicated to the art of making handmade, small-batch jams, pickles, chutneys and ferments.
Kylee has written three celebrated cookery books, The Modern Preserver, The Modern Preserver’s Kitchen and Jams with a Twist. Winner of the vegetable category of a YBF award in 2016, judged by Simon Rogan and Claude Bossi. Her writing can be seen in numerous UK and NZ publications, with appearances on podcasts, radio and TV commercials celebrating the art of all things preserving.
Kylee grew up in New Zealand where the notions of seasonal eating and sustainability were part of childhood daily life. She now resides in NZ and loves to share the knowledge she's gained through cooking and preserving in collaborations, demonstrations, cookery classes at pop-ups, festivals and at restaurant/hotel media events.
