The Money Behind The Side Hustle: Xero v Hnry Live Panel

Let’s talk about the number-one underrated tool in your business stack:It’s not your website.

It’s not social media.
It’s not your carefully curated Spotify playlist that screams ‘ambient CEO energy’.

It’s your accounting software.

Why?

Because it’s where the money moves.
It’s where you invoice clients, track payments, understand your cash, and (most critically) actually get paid.
Having an “out of sight, out of mind” attitude will be the single thing that holds you, your income and your growth back.

And, if you’re running your business solo or small, you’ve probably been sold a specific flavour of advice: “Choose the system that’s easiest now.”
“You can think about growth admin later.”
“Tax software is basically accounting software, right?”

We aren’t here for that.

We’re here for choosing systems that don’t just feel easy, but stay useful as your business grows.Which is exactly why this panel exists.

On 18 December at 1pm (Sydney time), three women who live, breathe, and bill from their software are going head-to-head to compare: Hnry and Xero
No fluff.
No generic “best system ever” claims.
Just a real side-by-side comparison based on actual use, real founder decisions, and very recent system switching scars.

Your panel:
Shaye Thyer - Consulting CFO who has spent 20 years turning corporate finance into small business clarity (minus the jargon and ego)
Tracey Rubens - Expert bookkeeper who will walk through what the platforms actually feel like to set up and use day-to-day
Faith Limantono - Founder and content strategist who started out on Hnry, moved to Xero, and has now road-tested two platforms in under 12 months because reality has a sense of humour.

You’ll walk away with:

A clear understanding of the real difference between both platforms
What setup actually involves for each (time, steps, friction, and delight)
How invoicing and client payments flow inside each system
The day-to-day experience (not the brochure version)
Confidence to choose the system that frees you to grow, not just starts light

A checklist of questions you should be asking before you pick software
(no, you’re not being extra, you’re being appropriately ambitious)

Format:

Live online panel
Real product demo, side-by-side
Founder story + context from someone who’s just done the switch Q&A so you can ask the questions you’ve been Googling at 2am.

If you want clarity on what system fits where your business is now, and what you’ll outgrow when you’re ready for more later - this is your hour.

Start 2026 off with clarity on the financial system that works for present and future you.
Reserve your spot. Bring your questions.
And enjoy finance chat that doesn’t make you want to slide under the desk.
